Plus Size Bodysuits – They Exist! Here’s Where To Find Them
Vogue is telling me that statement maxi skirts are going to be a thing this spring. As a maxi skirt (and bold statement piece) lover, I approve. This trend, pared with the 90s aesthetic that seems to be popping up everywhere these days, made me think of bodysuits (what better to wear with a statement skirt?). I thought plus size bodysuits would be difficult to find, but there are definitely some great designs out there. I present to you my finds from across the internet, across a range of price points as always. Enjoy!
ASOS
ASOS carries a wide variety of very affordable designs. Sizing varies across brands.
Buttercream Clothing
Based in Alberta, Buttercream Clothing makes bodysuits in both tank and long-sleeve styles in a few different colours and prints. Everything is made to order locally so be prepared to wait a couple of months before your item is shipped. Sizing up to 6X.
Cider
Cider has a lot of bodysuit designs to choose from at a very low price, ranging from basics like turtlenecks and tanks to prettier designs like this one. Sizing up to 4XL; I have never ordered from this brand but they appear to run small based on the size chart so be sure to check before ordering.
Eloquii
Eloquii has a small selection of bodysuits, absolutely none of which are plain enough to count as a basic wardrobe staple. This particular style is a dressier option for a night out. Sizing up to 28.
Girlfriend Collective
I mentioned this bodysuit in one of my earlier blog posts on activewear. It comes in both brief and thong options. Sizing up to 6XL.
Good American
Good American has lots of very cool bodysuit designs that are worth checking out. Sizing up to 5XL.
H&M
H&M has a few very cute and very affordable options. Bonus: this design has snaps on the bottom. Sizing up to 4XL.
Knix
Knix is generally a solid option for underwear and base layers, and bodysuits are no exception. Sizing up to XXXL+ (the size chart will show your fit based on bra size).
Mayana Genevière
Mayana Genevière is a made-in-Canada luxury lingerie brand based in Toronto that focuses on fit and fabric technology. The bodysuit below will be available at the end of March. Sizing up to 3X.
Nettle’s Tale
A made-in-Canada bamboo scoopneck bodysuit in three colours including basic black. Sizing up to 4X.
Old Navy
Old Navy ends up on pretty much every list I make, and for good reason – they carry pretty much everything. They have a number of basic bodysuit styles to choose from. Sizing up to 4X.
Pennington’s
Penningtons has a small selection of bodysuits including lingerie styles. Sizing up to 5X.
Rebdolls
You won’t find any boring designs here. Sizing up to 32.
Shapermint
Shapewear brand Shapermint has a lot of bodysuit choices. Sizing up to 4XL.
Smash + Tess
Canadian brand Smash + Tess carries a few bodysuit styles, and they’re all (at the time of writing) on sale. Sizing up to 4X.
Spanx
Spanx has a few bodysuit styles to choose from, not all of which are shapewear. Sizing up to 3X.
Thief & Bandit
Thief & Bandit does all its production in-house in Nova Scotia, including printing the fabrics. (Check them out on social media to see how that works!) I love their fun and quirky designs. Sizing up to 3X; custom sizing also available.
Torrid
Torrid has a few bodysuit styles to choose from, most in basic black. I really like the corset seams on this design. Sizing up to 6X.
Thistle & Spire
This bodysuit from Thistle & Spire is pricey but who cares because OMG IT HAS DRAGONS. Sizing up to 3X.
Universal Standard
Universal Standard has a few bodysuit options including versions with shorts and full leggings. This particular design has snaps at the bottom and at the shoulder, making it super easy to get on and off. Sizing up to 40.
Yitty by Lizzo
Last, but certainly not least, is Yitty. This line is designed by Lizzo so obviously it’s full of bright and bold designs. There are lots of fun styles to choose from. Sizing up to 6X.
